The Challenge
This commercial roofing project involved a broad, low-slope roof with several details that required more than simply covering the field of the roof with a new membrane. Scope of Work
A1 Roofing’s KangaRoof prepared the roof for installation of a new white single-ply membrane system. The photos document the process from the underlying roof assembly through the finished membrane installation.
Rigid roofing boards were positioned across the roof and secured with mechanical fasteners and large fastening plates. The evenly distributed plates visible throughout the installation provide a stable base for the new roofing system and help secure the assembly across the wide commercial roof area.
The crew then installed large sheets of white roofing membrane over the prepared surface. Individual sections were carefully aligned so the seams could be properly joined. Close-up photographs show technicians using professional hot-air welding equipment and hand rollers to create the membrane seams. This heat-welded connection is an important part of single-ply flat roofing because it creates a continuous surface rather than relying only on exposed mechanical connections.
The project also required detailed work around roof edges and transitions. Crew members can be seen fitting membrane near perimeter areas and working around the existing drainage system.
