Added Protection for Your Roofing Investment

Choosing a roofing contractor involves more than comparing prices. Columbia homeowners also need a clearly defined scope of work, dependable communication, appropriate roofing materials, written warranty information, and a practical plan for protecting their investment.

A1 Roofing’s KangaRoof helps homeowners evaluate their property and compare realistic options for roof repair in Columbia, MD, roof replacement, and flat roofing.

A1 Roofing’s KangaRoof is also listed on Directorii, an independent contractor platform that provides qualifying homeowners with access to its third-party guarantee program.

The Directorii Guarantee is separate from the roofing contract and warranty terms provided by A1 Roofing’s KangaRoof. It does not automatically apply to every project. The homeowner and project must meet Directorii’s current eligibility and registration requirements.

How the Directorii Guarantee Is Structured

Directorii currently presents two levels of project protection. The applicable level depends on how the project is registered, whether the required account and contract conditions have been satisfied, and whether broader coverage has been properly activated.

Up to $30,000 in Deposit Protection

Directorii’s Deposit Protection is designed to safeguard qualifying payments made to a listed Directorii contractor, up to the applicable maximum coverage amount.

According to Directorii, this level may apply to qualifying situations involving:

  • Payments made to the contractor;
  • Contractor fraud or project abandonment;
  • Contractor bankruptcy.

Depending on the circumstances and Directorii’s claim decision, Directorii may reimburse a qualifying paid amount or help arrange completion of the remaining contracted work.

Up to $250,000 in Full Coverage

After a contract has been signed, a qualifying project may be eligible for an upgrade to Directorii’s Full Coverage level.

According to Directorii, Full Coverage may address qualifying claims involving:

  • Workmanship problems;
  • Noncompliance with applicable building codes;
  • Noncompliance with manufacturer installation requirements;
  • Material or product defects.

The $250,000 amount is a maximum coverage limit, not an automatic or guaranteed payment. Directorii independently determines whether a project and claim qualify, what terms apply, and how an approved claim will be resolved.

How to Register an Eligible Roofing Project

Directorii controls the registration and coverage process. Homeowners should complete every required step and confirm their protection directly through Directorii rather than relying only on a contractor’s website or verbal explanation.

Step 1

Request a Roofing Estimate

Contact A1 Roofing’s KangaRoof to schedule an inspection or discuss your roofing needs. Our team will evaluate the available information and prepare a proposal based on the recommended scope of work.

Step 2

Review the Contractor’s Directorii Profile

Before signing a contract, confirm that A1 Roofing’s KangaRoof is still represented on Directorii.

Step 3

Create a Directorii User Account

Directorii states that the homeowner must have a Directorii user account at the time of the roofing contract.

To avoid an eligibility issue, create the account and review the current program requirements before or when the contract is signed.

Step 4

Register the Roofing Project

The project must be registered with Directorii. Directorii states that project registration may be completed by either the homeowner or the contractor.

Homeowners should confirm that the project appears correctly in their Directorii account and retain any registration confirmation.

Step 5

Confirm the Applicable Coverage Level

Deposit Protection and Full Coverage are not the same. After signing the roofing contract, follow Directorii’s current instructions for activating or upgrading the project to the desired level of protection.

Do not assume that registration for Deposit Protection automatically activates Full Coverage up to $250,000. Confirm the applicable coverage level directly with Directorii.

Clear Options Before Work Begins

A1 Roofing’s KangaRoof focuses on helping customers understand the available roofing options before approving a project.

The appropriate solution depends on factors such as:

  • The location and extent of the damage;
  • The condition of surrounding roofing materials;
  • The age and type of roofing system;
  • Whether leaks are isolated or recurring;
  • The expected service life of a repair;
  • The homeowner’s budget and long-term plans.

After evaluating the property, our team prepares a written proposal describing the recommended work, pricing, and applicable warranty information.

The Directorii Guarantee may provide another layer of protection for an eligible and properly registered project, but it does not replace the need to review the roofing proposal, contract, warranties, payment schedule, and Directorii’s current terms.

What the Directorii Guarantee Does Not Mean

The Directorii Guarantee should be described accurately so homeowners understand both its potential value and its limitations.

It does not mean that:

  • Every project automatically receives $250,000 in coverage;
  • Every payment, defect, delay, or disagreement will qualify;
  • A1 Roofing’s KangaRoof determines whether a claim is approved;
  • Directorii coverage replaces the written roofing contract;
  • Directorii coverage replaces applicable manufacturer or workmanship warranties;
  • The maximum coverage amount is a promised claim payment.

Directorii independently administers its guarantee program. Its current eligibility rules, registration requirements, exclusions, documentation requirements, claim procedures, and final decisions apply.
